Tom Levee: A Modern-Day Hero on a Mission to Give Back

Tom at the start of the CDTTom Levee is a name that will soon become synonymous with adventure, perseverance, and generosity. The Value Schools Foundation Board member has taken on two of the most challenging long-distance hikes in the country – the Pacific Crest Trail in 2021 and now, the Continental Divide Trail – with a purpose much greater than himself.

As you might remember from Levee’s previous adventure, the Pacific Crest Trail spans over 2,650 miles from Mexico to Canada along the western ridge of the United States. Levee not only pushed himself to the limit but also raised over $100,000 for Value Schools and the new Everest Value School building.

Now, in 2023, Levee is taking on the even more demanding Continental Divide Trail, which stretches from New Mexico to Glacier National Park in Montana, a distance of over 3,100 miles. But why?

Levee is on a mission to embody Value 5 – giving back. This time, his fundraising efforts will go towards scholarship opportunities for Value Schools' graduating seniors and 529 education investment accounts for incoming kindergarteners. The families who receive the 529 accounts will also have access to financial literacy classes to help plan for college.

Levee embarks on his journey on March 30, 2023, at the southern border of New Mexico, and will complete his trek at the northern border of Glacier National Park. This is no small feat, and Levee is fully aware of the challenges that lie ahead. But his unwavering determination to give back to the next generation and make a positive impact on their futures is what drives him forward.

We can all learn from Tom Levee and his selfless act of kindness. He is an inspiration to us all and serves as a reminder that one person can make a difference. You will have an opportunity to sponsor Tom on his trek, follow his progress, and encourage him as he supports the students and families of Value Schools.

Tom Levee is not only pushing his limits, but he is also making a tangible difference in the lives of others. In a world where it is all too easy to focus on oneself, Levee is leading by example, showing us the power of giving back and making a remarkable difference in our community.

Updates from Tom Along the Trail

This is a TOUGH hike. We just did over 130 miles and over 13,000 feet of elevation gain over the last five nights. Loving the trail, but missing the PCT side trips for massive calorie intakes 😂. These are shots of the Gila from the Gila high route we took. We decided to stay safe as the river was too high and fast to attempt crossing over 200 times. Once was enough. Saw some great sights. We found the elk antler that we found out people search for as they can get about $20 per pound for them. Great sunset shot of our tents…more to come. Please remember to click on the link in my IG or FB profile page for my Value schools fundraiser. Even if you choose not to donate, at least read what an amazing opportunity we have created for our students. Thank You! #cdt #cdtclassof2023 #pctclassof2021 #valueschool
