December 2017 Bulletin 1The holiday season is here and there is much to celebrate. Everest has come a long way in building a strong academic program and a healthy community. We are so grateful to have the staff, students, and you working hard every day to get even better!

As is typically the case in December, we have a lot of things going on around campus. Listening to our students practice in Ms. Dryden's room, it is clear this year's Winter Concert (at 2pm on 12/15) will be a show that cannot be missed. Our girls and boys basketball teams are beginning practice for the upcoming FIYA season in January. Girls on the Run will be capping off their season this Sunday, 12/3, with the Family 5K in South El Monte.

There is more good news on the site for our new building (243 N. Westmoreland). After a moving speech from our student and parent leadership, the Values Board has decided to spend the extra money to tear down the existing structure and build a brand new school! There is lots to do and we need your help. Currently we are planning to go to the Rampart Neighborhood Council Meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of every month, to make our presence known with local leadership. Please reach out to Ms. Gonzalez or myself if you are interested in attending.

I also want to personally thank the Luna Family (Crisoforo and Dolores) for preparing a wonderful surprise Thanksgiving meal for our staff last month. Not only was it delicious, it truly warmed the hearts of the teachers and staff who may be a little tired this time of year with grading and report cards. The Luna Family has been with Everest since the beginning, and we are very lucky to have their kind spirit lifting up our community!

Lastly, I want to remind everyone to make sure to reach out to your child's teacher about the report card conferences. These are scheduled for this week and next. It is required that you attend these. Please contact the office if you have any questions.
