Value Schools Impact Report

It is hard to believe but Value Schools has been educating students for over twenty years. Dr. Jerome Porath, our founder, opened Downtown Value School in 2002. Central City Value High School opened in the fall of 2003 with 88 ninth grade students. And, of course, our story continued as we opened Everest Value School in 2014 and University Prep Value High School in 2015.

Career Exploration at Value Schools

One of the exciting new ways to give back to our community is by creating a career exploration day at your business.  We are asking our friends to create an interactive half- or full-day experience where students learn and explore the careers inside your business or organization.

Value Schools Welcomes New President and CEO

The Value Schools Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Loreen Riley as the new President and CEO of Value Schools, effective July 1, 2022. Ms. Riley’s appointment is a clear reflection of the Board’s confidence in her ability to lead Value Schools to even greater success in the future.

Everest Value School Ribbon Cutting

The doors of Everest Value School recently opened for students as we celebrated the long-awaited ribbon cutting on Saturday, June 11, 2022.

Our keynote speaker Monica Garcia, Board Member for LA Unified School District 2, inspired us during the ceremony.

During the planning phase for the new Everest Value School building, we asked our students to dream about the perfect school: What would they want? We received many ideas, most of which have been incorporated at the school site.

Idyllwild Art Camp

Nestled in the San Bernardino National Forest, 100 miles from downtown Los Angeles, sits the Idyllwild Arts Academy whose mission is to change lives through the transformative power of art.

Back East Scholars Trip (BEST)

With the return of “normal conditions,” the Back East Scholars Trip (BEST), created and supported by Grant Cambridge, will resume.

Base Camp

Created by Grant Cambridge, Chair of our School Board and Foundation Board, Base Camp provides students from our high schools the opportunity to hike local mountains during spring and summer, and receive mentorship along the way. This program is meant to inspire students to develop their potential.
